Key Responsibilities
  • Assist up to four Relationship Managers (RMs) in managing client relationships within the assigned portfolio.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for clients on behalf of the Relationship Manager for designated accounts.
  • Engage in client-facing activities, including annual review meetings, customer service interactions, and the closing process.
  • Oversee the collection and evaluation of annual financial reporting requirements for assigned clients.
  • Collaborate with the Credit Department to conduct annual reviews and process new funding requests within the portfolio, making informed recommendations regarding risk ratings based on financial analysis.
  • Manage portfolio reports, addressing documentation exceptions, maturity dates, and monitored lines to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with banking partners to identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities based on client interactions.
  • Support Relationship Managers in deal evaluations and preliminary assessments of significant existing and prospective clients, working closely with Senior Credit Underwriters for complex credit analysis.
  • Review loan documentation and oversee the closing process for assigned accounts.
  • Work directly with the lead Relationship Manager when specialized expertise is required to assist clients.
  • Support the Relationship Manager in preparing credit presentations for Regional Credit Officers and Loan Committees.
  • Occasionally accompany the Relationship Manager on visits to key clients to enhance training and development as a Portfolio Manager.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of and comply with all relevant laws and regulations, ensuring adherence to internal policies and training requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 4-6+ years of experience in credit analysis, commercial banking, and business banking, with a minimum of 2 years in portfolio management or underwriting.
  • Proficient understanding of loan structuring and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and lending principles, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Client-facing skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is commensurate with experience, with potential for annual merit increases.
