Role Summary
The Information Technology (IT) Support Specialist will collaborate with a team of IT professionals to assist the Director of Information Technology in implementing and maintaining a robust technology framework across our campuses. This role requires a strong technical background and exceptional helpdesk support experience to effectively assist students, staff, and partners in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students.
- Provide support across various campuses as needed.
- Offer both on-site and remote technical support.
- Document and track all helpdesk inquiries and maintain accurate records.
- Resolve IT support tickets promptly and follow up to ensure user satisfaction.
- Prepare classrooms with necessary technology for the academic year.
- Manage both on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based solutions.
- Oversee Chromebook management, including syncing, assignment, and repairs.
- Escalate technical issues as necessary.
- Maintain and service technology equipment, including projectors and computers.
- Ensure orderly cabling in all educational spaces.
- Administer software updates and manage security solutions.
- Collaborate with other IT specialists to ensure consistent operations.
- Coordinate logistics for technology-dependent events.
- Engage in project management and teamwork for shared initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of an evolving IT knowledge base.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, and Azure Cloud.
- Familiarity with IT helpdesk systems and documentation practices.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and network management.
- Strong customer service skills and adaptability in a team environment.
- Experience in maintaining computer hardware and educational technology.
- Understanding of IT cycles within educational institutions.
- Experience with VOIP systems.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in an IT role, preferably in an educational context.
- CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications are required.
