POSITION CLASSIFICATION / WORK EXPECTATIONS: SALARY: $34,000 - $40,000

The Site Support Coordinator is a full-time, exempt role. Individuals in this position adhere to the Academic Year Calendar for HOPE's instructional personnel, as determined annually. The anticipated work schedule requires being present on-site 30 minutes prior to and 30 minutes following the operational hours of the Learning Site.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Site Support Coordinator operates within a Learning Site, providing instructional support under the guidance of the Curriculum Specialist/Site Coordinator and Academic Liaison. Key responsibilities include collaboration, coordination, and facilitation of the HOPE academic instructional program through:

  • Effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders to foster a positive, secure, and engaging educational environment;
  • Professional development for Learning Site Mentors;
  • Assessment and monitoring of student progress;
  • Coordination of core content support and intervention programs for students; and
  • Exemplifying professionalism and commitment to the community.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Focus Area: Communication and Collaboration with Stakeholders (20%)

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain collaborative, positive, and effective relationships with all stakeholders to ensure a supportive learning environment.
  • Work with all stakeholders (Learning Site Staff, Edgenuity Teacher, families, etc.) to create, implement, and sustain a shared communication plan regarding students.
  • Employ culturally responsive communication strategies to build and maintain trust with all stakeholders, including promoting high expectations for all learners.
  • Actively participate in learning site, school, and community events, including those outside of traditional school hours.

Evidence of Success

  1. Positive and trusting relationships are developed and maintained with all stakeholders, who report feeling valued and respected.
  2. Students achieve success due to the implementation of a collaborative communication plan.
  3. All students meet high expectations through clear, targeted, and culturally-responsive communication.

Focus Area: Support Professional Development for Learning Site Mentors (15%)

Co-facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and provide site-based professional development on relevant topics driven by student achievement data.

  • Utilize a Situational Leadership model to offer tailored support addressing the needs of mentors and their students.
  • Train new mentors with guidance from the Curriculum Specialist/Site Coordinator and Academic Liaison in various instructional strategies and resources.

Evidence of Success

  1. Mentors effectively implement strategies for culturally responsive and rigorous learning opportunities.
  2. Professional development sessions are relevant and based on the needs of mentors and students.
  3. Student outcomes improve as a result of data-driven instruction.

Focus Area: Assessment and Monitoring of Student Progress (25%)

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee all assessments while ensuring integrity and security.
  • Regularly evaluate student progress and utilize technology to analyze and share data on individual and group performance.
  • Refer students for additional services as needed.
  • Complete individual student plans and grading tasks promptly.
  • Document ongoing progress for students on specific plans at regular intervals.
  • Communicate individual student progress with stakeholders.

Evidence of Success

  1. All assessments are conducted accurately and timely.
  2. Performance data is regularly reviewed to inform instructional decisions.
  3. Students and stakeholders understand their progress towards learning goals.

Focus Area: Coordination of Core Content Support and Intervention Programs (30%)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Learning Site Mentors and specialized staff to ensure students receive appropriate instruction.
  • Utilize data to form small groups for targeted instruction and maintain schedules for personalized learning.
  • Work with site leadership to ensure consistent implementation of instructional components.
  • Identify and provide intervention instruction for students needing additional support.
  • Assist mentors in selecting relevant materials for critical thinking and intervention instruction.

Evidence of Success

  1. All instructional components are effectively implemented for every student.
  2. Students are appropriately grouped for instruction.
  3. Students receive the necessary support to meet academic standards.

Focus Area: Exemplifying Professionalism and Community Commitment (10%)

Responsibilities

  • Adjust practices based on the needs of the Learning Site.
  • Set personal goals related to student outcomes and seek professional development opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Evidence of Success

  • The Learning Site meets performance targets outlined in improvement plans.
  • Personal professional goals are achieved.
  • Additional responsibilities as determined by the supervisor.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

The Site Support Coordinator reports to the Curriculum Specialist/Site Coordinator and the Academic Liaison, receiving feedback from the Learning Site Director and other instructional team members. This position does not involve supervising other employees.

EDUCATION, LICENSURE, AND EXPERIENCE:

Required

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Enrollment in a College or University program leading to a teaching license.
  • A minimum of three years of teaching experience, with at least two years working with at-risk youth in diverse settings.
  • Proven success in instructional coaching to enhance student outcomes.
  • Experience in supporting diverse learners.
  • Ability to develop learning targets and tasks aligned with academic standards.
  • Experience with data-driven instructional practices.

Preferred

  • Experience leading PLCs and providing targeted professional development.
  • Ability to diagnose academic gaps in students.
  • Familiarity with state-level assessments for secondary students.
  • Skills in managing and interpreting data effectively.

Work is typically performed in an office or classroom setting with moderate noise levels. The Site Support Coordinator is assigned to one specific Learning Site and is responsible for travel to the HOPE Office for training and meetings as needed.
