Job Title: Business Development Manager

Northwest Bank of Rockford is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Business Banking Group, you will be responsible for originating and managing a portfolio of commercial loans and deposits that drive maximum profitability for the bank with minimal risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply product and service knowledge to effectively meet customer and/or prospect banking needs.
  • Solicit and develop new loan and deposit business to meet or exceed annual production goals.
  • Collect and analyze financial data of moderate and complex customers and/or prospects to determine credit worthiness and develop an appropriate loan structure.
  • Negotiate terms including costs, collateral requirements, repayment methods and rates to successfully obtain new business and retain existing customers.
  • Monitor loan repayment and assist in collection or coordination of payments to minimize delinquency and meet bank standards.
  • Conduct periodic customer meetings to enhance customer retention and assist with the annual review process.
  • Maintain professional communication and conduct with all clients, prospects and associates.
  • Cross sell additional bank services, making recommendations for customer consideration and referring leads to Consumer, Investment, and Mortgage Sales Associates.
  • Use all available resources to provide value-added advice and/or recommendations for the potential improvement of customers business operations, productivity, etc., as appropriate.
  • Meet and/or exceed all individual sales goals, while assisting the Business Banking Team in accomplishing its Strategic Business Plan and Budget.
  • Maintain and promote a superior level of professional customer service and Team Member relations at all times. Proactively provide solutions and resolve customer concerns and requests.
  • Actively participate in community organizations and events to increase the banks visibility and image in order to build a solid referral network.
  • Participate in professional organizations to enhance further personal development.
  • Undertake special projects and/or assignments relating to the Business Banking Group and the bank.
  • Ensure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules and regulations including Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering to assist management in monitoring for suspicious activity, money laundering, or other illegal customer activity.

  • Communicator: Superior interpersonal and project management skills, oral and written communication and ability to anticipate and guide the impact of effective internal and external communication strategies on the organization.
  • Judgement and Problem Solving: Superior analytical and management skills and the ability to objectively ascertain solutions focused on organizational success.
  • Technical: Fluency in Jack Henry, loan platform systems or similar financial industry technology, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Knowledge of banking products, services, policies, procedures and regulations.
