Job Title: Recreation Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities and sports programs for both youth and adults. This role involves promoting, coordinating, and supervising activities, ensuring active participation and compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and promote recreational and sports programs for diverse age groups.
  • Assist with community event planning, sponsorships, coordination, and setup.
  • Coordinate volunteer programs, including finding volunteers for events and programs and assigning and overseeing their duties.
  • Develop and distribute marketing materials, maintain the department website, and distribute program information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Process registrations, collect fees, oversee program logistics, and coordinate field and facility usage.
  • Respond to public inquiries, resolve complaints, and maintain effective community relations.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, schedule officials, and coordinate the maintenance and preparation of play areas.
  • Assist in financial record-keeping and conduct program evaluations to improve services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in recreation management, leisure studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Colorado class "R" driver's license.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required within the first three months of employment.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with regular hours from Monday to Friday, with frequent evening, weekend, and holiday work required due to program scheduling.

Physical Demands:

The job involves both office settings and outdoor activities, which may require walking, standing for long periods, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

Special Requirements:

The Recreation Coordinator must provide own safety footwear and be available for emergency call-backs and flexibility to work beyond normal hours as needed.
