Recreation Manager

The Recreation Coordinator plays a vital role in planning, organizing, and implementing a wide range of recreational activities and sports programs for both youth and adults in the Pueblo West Metropolitan District. This position involves promoting, coordinating, and supervising activities to ensure active participation and compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and promote recreational and sports programs to ensure diversity and inclusivity.
- Assist with community event planning, sponsorships, coordination, and setup.
- Coordinate volunteer programs, including finding volunteers for events and programs, and managing their duties.
- Develop and distribute marketing materials such as flyers, press releases, and schedules.
- Process registrations, collect fees, oversee program logistics, and coordinate field and facility usage.
- Respond to public inquiries, resolve complaints, and maintain effective community relations.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and schedule officials and maintenance personnel.
- Conduct and evaluate program effectiveness, seek feedback, and implement improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in recreation management, leisure studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Valid Colorado class 'R' driver's license.
- CPR and First Aid certification required within the first three months of employment.
Work Environment:
- Work involves both office settings and outdoor activities, which may require walking, standing for long periods, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to various weather conditions during activities and events.
