Join the City of Murphy, TX team as a Parks Crew Leader and contribute to the maintenance and beautification of our parks and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing maintenance crews to ensure routine and repetitive tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Supervise and train crew members to maintain quality standards and best practices.
  • Adhere to and ensure crew members adhere to personnel, safety, and department policies and procedures.
  • Perform duties of Maintenance Technician I and II, including operating commercial landscape and turf care equipment.
  • Maintain and inspect playground and park equipment regularly.
  • Prepare and maintain athletic facilities during seasonal periods.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Three (3) years of lead experience related to commercial landscape, turf care, irrigation systems, equipment operation, and maintenance experience.
  • Current Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) Pesticide Applicator License.
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in turf management or related field.
  • National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) Certified Playground Safety Inspector.
  • Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Licensed Irrigator Certification.
  • NRPA Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) Certification.
