POSITION SUMMARY:

The Brockton Neighborhood Health Center is seeking a dedicated physician to deliver comprehensive medical care to our patients, adhering to established professional standards and organizational policies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Clinical Duties: Provide direct patient care within your area of expertise. Assess, plan, document, and evaluate patient needs and treatments, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
  • Cultural Competence: Maintain a practice that is sensitive to cultural and linguistic diversity, utilizing interpreters and other resources as necessary.
  • Care Planning: Develop individualized care plans based on assessments of physical, emotional, and social needs, collaborating with patients and their families when appropriate.
  • Referrals: Refer patients to specialists and other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Chart Review: Regularly review patient charts to ensure that treatment plans are effectively developed and implemented.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to promote patient education and rehabilitation, focusing on both mental and physical health.
  • On-Call Duties: Participate in rotating on-call schedules and provide coverage for urgent care as required.
  • Quality Improvement: Collaborate with the Patient Care Committee to monitor and enhance the quality of care provided.
  • Patient Volume: Full-time physicians are expected to manage a minimum of 4200 patient visits annually, subject to adjustments as per the provider compensation plan.

  • Exhibit sensitivity and respond appropriately to verbal and non-verbal communications from patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Uphold patient privacy rights, ensuring dignity in care provision and maintaining discretion in all communications regarding patient care.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrate sound judgment in resolving clinical and non-clinical issues.
  • Possess the ability to act independently and make informed decisions.
  • Anticipate potential problems and engage in the problem-solving process.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
  • Utilize tact, courtesy, patience, and discretion in interactions with others.
  • Maintain composure under the pressures of a demanding work environment.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
  • Engage actively in scheduled staff meetings.
  • Participate in both formal and informal professional teaching opportunities.
  • Enhance clinical skills through ongoing medical education and training.
  • Maintain admitting privileges at affiliated medical facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Possess current Massachusetts licensure and relevant certifications.
  • Board certified or eligible in family practice or internal medicine, with an active pursuit of board certification if eligible.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including mid-level providers, social workers, and case managers.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Haitian Creole is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in ambulatory care or public health is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Long hours may be required, including participation in rotating call responsibilities.
  • Potential exposure to patient blood and body fluids.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical requirements include the ability to lift small equipment, boxes, and/or patients up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing and walking are necessary, along with visual acuity for reading and hearing acuity for conversations.
