- Creates individualized care plans based on thorough assessments of physical, emotional, and social factors.
- Refers patients to specialists and other healthcare providers as necessary.
- Reviews patient records to confirm appropriate treatment strategies.
- Exhibits empathy and effectively communicates with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Upholds patient confidentiality and dignity throughout care delivery.
- Utilizes sound judgment in resolving issues.
- Collaborates effectively with other healthcare professionals.
- Maintains cooperative relationships with fellow physicians and clinical staff.
- Conducts patient visits in hospital settings as required.
- Engages in initiatives to monitor and enhance the quality of care.
- Full-time physicians are expected to meet specific patient visit targets annually.
HIV INFECTIOUS DISEASE MANAGEMENT:
- Provides education and support to patients living with HIV regarding their treatment and medication regimens.
- Analyzes laboratory results and offers treatment recommendations.
- Participates in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Assists patients and their families in coping with illness and HIV-related challenges.
- Collaborates with the HIV Team to deliver culturally appropriate services.
- Documents all patient interactions and care activities.
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES:
- Engages in evaluation and performance enhancement activities.
- Contributes to the development, review, and revision of policies and procedures.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
- Participates in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
- Engages in teaching and mentoring of clinical staff.
- Maintains clinical expertise through ongoing education and training.
- Holds admitting privileges at local hospitals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possesses current licensure and certifications.
- Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics.
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Fluency in additional languages is advantageous.
- Proficient in electronic medical record systems.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Located in a community health center within a business district. May require occasional extended hours and some travel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Primarily sedentary work with occasional lifting required.
TRAVEL AND WORK HOURS:
- May involve travel for professional conferences.
- Includes evening and weekend responsibilities.
- On-call duties may be required.
REPORTS TO: Medical Director/Assistant Medical Director
