Primary Care Physician

- Clinical Duties:
- Delivers direct patient care within the scope of expertise, assessing, planning, documenting, and evaluating patient needs and treatment options.
- Ensures a culturally and linguistically appropriate practice, utilizing interpreters and other resources as necessary.
- Develops individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and their families, considering physical, emotional, and social factors.
- Refers patients to specialists and other healthcare providers as needed.
- Reviews and monitors patient records to ensure adherence to established treatment protocols.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide patient education and promote overall health and wellness.
- Maintains effective working relationships with colleagues, administration, and clinical staff, offering guidance and support as needed.
- Participates in on-call rotations and provides coverage for urgent care services when required.
- Engages with the Patient Care Committee to enhance the quality of care delivered.
- Full-time physicians are expected to manage a minimum of 4200 patient visits annually, subject to adjustments based on compensation agreements.

- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Holds a valid Massachusetts medical license and current certifications as applicable.
- Board certified or eligible in family medicine or internal medicine, with a commitment to pursuing board certification if not yet achieved.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including mid-level providers, social workers, and case managers.
- Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Haitian Creole is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in outpatient care or public health is preferred.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- May require extended hours, including on-call responsibilities.
- Potential exposure to patient blood and bodily fluids.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Job responsibilities may involve lifting light equipment, boxes, or patients up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing and walking are required. Visual acuity for reading and hearing ability for effective communication are essential. Brockton Neighborhood Health Center is dedicated to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for both patients and staff. All employees, including new hires, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and receive annual flu vaccinations, unless exempt for documented medical or religious reasons, as per the center's protocols. Additional vaccinations may be mandated based on CDC recommendations.
