  • Clinical Duties:
    • Delivers direct patient care within the scope of expertise. Evaluates, plans, documents, and reviews patient requirements and treatments. Ensures appropriate follow-up care.
    • Maintains a practice that is sensitive to cultural and linguistic diversity, utilizing interpreters and other resources as necessary.
    • Develops a comprehensive care plan based on the assessment of physical, emotional, and social needs, collaborating with the patient and, when suitable, their family.
    • Refers patients to specialists and other healthcare providers as needed.
    • Reviews patient records to ensure the development and adherence to suitable treatment plans.
    • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals regarding patient education and rehabilitation, promoting both mental and physical well-being.
    • Maintains a cooperative relationship with fellow physicians, administrative staff, and clinical personnel. Provides professional support and guidance to colleagues and other staff members. Leverages the expertise of various disciplines to ensure holistic care for all patients.
    • Participates in on-call rotations and provides coverage for urgent care when necessary.
    • Contributes to the efforts of the Patient Care Committee to enhance and monitor the quality of care provided.
    • Full-time physicians are expected to manage a minimum of 4200 patient visits annually, subject to adjustments based on the provider compensation framework.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Exhibits sensitivity and responds appropriately to both verbal and non-verbal communications from patients, families, and colleagues.
    • Upholds patient confidentiality, ensuring dignity in care delivery and exercising discretion in all communications regarding patient care.

  • Interpersonal Abilities:

    • Participates in both formal and informal professional staff training.
    • Maintains clinical proficiency through ongoing medical education and training.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Holds a current Massachusetts medical license and relevant certifications.
    • Board certified or eligible in family medicine or internal medicine; if board eligible, actively pursuing certification.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including mid-level providers, social workers, and case managers.
    • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Haitian Creole is highly advantageous.
    • Prior experience in outpatient care and/or public health is preferred.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    • Long hours may be required, including participation in rotating on-call duties.
    • Potential exposure to patient blood and bodily fluids.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Physical requirements include the ability to lift small equipment, boxes, and/or patients up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing and walking are necessary. Visual acuity sufficient for regular reading and hearing acuity adequate for conversation, with or without assistive devices. Brockton Neighborhood Health Center is dedicated to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for both patients and staff. As a condition of employment, all employees, including new hires, must be fully vaccinated, including the most recent COVID-19 booster and annual flu vaccines, unless they have documented medical or religious exemptions approved by the organization. Additional vaccinations may be required based on CDC recommendations.
