Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and capable Employment Litigation Associate to take on a permanent role within our firm. This position offers a unique chance to engage with a diverse range of employment litigation cases. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in civil litigation, particularly in employment law, and will be adept in managing cases, drafting legal documents, and engaging in various litigation processes. Candidates must be licensed to practice in DC and Maryland.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Employment Litigation Associate, you will manage a portfolio of complex employment litigation cases from initiation to resolution. Your duties will include:
  • Representing clients throughout all phases of employment litigation, including pre-litigation, discovery, motions, trials, and appeals.
  • Drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Preparing and arguing motions.
  • Conducting depositions and defending clients during these proceedings.
  • Overseeing discovery processes and preparing cases for trial.
  • Engaging in mediations and settlement discussions.
  • Advising clients on state and federal employment regulations.
  • Staying informed on developments in employment law and providing timely advice to clients.
  • Collaborating with fellow attorneys to ensure optimal representation for clients.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess:
  • A Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution.
  • Admission to the bars of DC and Maryland.
  • A minimum of 3-6 years of experience in civil litigation, with a concentration in employment law.
  • Proven track record as a case handling attorney in federal court.
  • Extensive experience in drafting and responding to discovery, preparing and arguing motions, and managing depositions.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal employment laws.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to handle a substantial caseload independently.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
