Position Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and committed Employment Litigation Associate to take on a permanent role within our firm. This position presents a unique chance to engage with a diverse range of employment litigation cases. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in civil litigation, particularly in employment law, and will have significant experience in managing cases, drafting and responding to discovery, defending depositions, and participating in mediations. Admission to the DC and Maryland bars is required.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Employment Litigation Associate, you will manage a caseload of intricate employment litigation matters from inception to resolution. Your duties will include:
  • Representing clients throughout all phases of employment litigation, including pre-litigation, discovery, motions, trials, and appeals.
  • Drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Preparing and arguing motions.
  • Defending and conducting depositions.
  • Overseeing discovery processes and trial preparations.
  • Engaging in mediations and settlement discussions.
  • Providing legal counsel on state and federal employment regulations.
  • Staying informed on changes in employment law and advising clients accordingly.
  • Collaborating with fellow attorneys to ensure optimal client representation.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess:
  • A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bars of DC and Maryland.
  • A minimum of 3-6 years of experience in civil litigation, emphasizing employment law.
  • Demonstrated experience as a case handling attorney in federal court.
  • Proficiency in drafting and responding to discovery, as well as preparing and arguing motions.
  • Experience in taking depositions and participating in mediations.
  • A comprehensive understanding of state and federal employment laws.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • The ability to manage a substantial caseload independently.
  • A dedication to delivering outstanding client service.
