EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time Regular Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: The Child Care Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating, documenting, and analyzing child care referrals within the designated service area. Responsibilities encompass a broad range of customer service, data management, and providing insights on quality indicators while offering tailored solutions for child care requirements. This position aims to support families, child care providers, and community stakeholders, contributing to the vision of ensuring accessible and high-quality child care services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Deliver child care referrals to families through various communication channels, including phone and in-person interactions.
• Oversee and maintain the database to ensure comprehensive data recording.
• Assist child care providers with annual updates to their profiles, ensuring clarity on the role of Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) in enrollment processes.
• Conduct follow-ups with clients to ascertain if suitable care was secured and address any further needs.
• Research and organize outreach initiatives to educate families about quality indicators in child care.
• Create a monthly newsletter aimed at parents, covering topics related to early childhood development.
• Review and update informational materials for clients to enhance their decision-making regarding child care options.
• Conduct an annual census of child care services and assist in evaluating community needs to identify trends in supply and demand.
• Prepare and present reports detailing referral statistics, provider data, and community insights for local and state use.
• Engage in activities that ensure adherence to organizational policies and contractual obligations.
• Uphold the organization's commitment to equity, diversity, and community involvement.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: An Associate Degree in early childhood education, human services, or business is preferred. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an office environment or regulated child care setting is required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
CERTIFICATIONS: A valid Driver's License is mandatory.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
● Exceptional communication and customer service abilities (both verbal and written)
● Proficient in engaging with the public and making phone calls
● Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management
● Familiarity with child care and early childhood terminology is advantageous
● Ability to maintain precise and detailed records
● Highly organized with the capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
● Creative and strategic mindset to promote and enhance services
● Capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently
● Non-judgmental approach when interacting with diverse clientele
● Positive demeanor and collaborative spirit to work effectively with all staff members.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The role is primarily office-based, with occasional evening and weekend commitments.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Some travel may be necessary within the service area, along with potential regional travel for professional development and meetings.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Must demonstrate a non-judgmental attitude while working with diverse populations, possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions.
EQUIPMENT UTILIZED: Computer, telephone, copier/printer, shredder, fax machine.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Duties may require sitting, driving, computer usage for documentation, and occasional lifting and carrying. Close attention to detail is essential.
MENTAL AND VISUAL DEMANDS: The position necessitates focused mental and visual attention to perform job responsibilities effectively.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not include supervisory duties.
