Job Summary:

The Child Care Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating programs to enhance the quality of child care in the community. This role will coordinate administrative tasks related to professional development for child care professionals, conduct workshops and presentations, provide technical assistance, and contribute to the publication of department newsletters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement programs to increase the knowledge and skills of child care providers, with a focus on support for new programs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and community engagement.
  • Identify and recruit new participants, and maintain accurate documentation for technical assistance and quality improvement projects.
  • Provide technical assistance and resources to in-process, existing, and informal providers.
  • Maintain accurate records of trainings planned, training provided, and outcomes from training.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Human Services, or a closely related field.
  • Two years of work experience in the Early Childhood field.
  • Above-average computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NYS child care regulations and methods of increasing quality in child care programs.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Work Environment:

This role will work in an office environment and require occasional driving in Jefferson and Lewis Counties to complete site visits and technical assistance.
