Privacy Compliance Specialist

About the RoleThe Privacy Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information. This includes developing and implementing policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a comprehensive privacy program that addresses research, clinical, and administrative privacy concerns.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective action plans to mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with senior management, information security, and compliance teams to establish governance and oversight for the privacy program.
- Oversee all elements of the privacy compliance program, including investigations, mitigation, and remediation.
- Perform enterprise-wide and department-specific research, clinical, and administrative privacy risk assessments, conduct relevant audits, and assist departments in establishing monitoring mechanisms.
- Bachelor's degree in a business or healthcare-related field or equivalency, and Master's degree in business, healthcare, or related field, or Juris Doctorate.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in research compliance, healthcare, and privacy.
- Privacy certification through the IAPP or HCCA or other nationally recognized compliance/privacy certification required.
