Job Summary

At Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, we are seeking a highly skilled Privacy Officer to join our team. As a key member of our compliance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive privacy program to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate privacy risks, and develop corrective action plans to address vulnerabilities.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on privacy policies and procedures, and ensure that all staff members understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to ensure that they are aware of and comply with our privacy policies and procedures.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or healthcare-related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in research compliance, healthcare, and privacy.
  • Privacy certification through the IAPP or HCCA, or other nationally recognized compliance/privacy certification.
  • Advanced knowledge of federal and state regulations applicable in a complex healthcare and research organization.
