Key Responsibilities
As a Privacy Industry Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring compliance, governance, and risk management to protect customer interests.
  • Collaborating with internal Legal and Regulatory Compliance teams to implement controls and compliance measures across business and engineering sectors.
  • Developing a comprehensive program that encompasses all aspects of compliance, privacy, and governance at Amazon.
  • Advising software engineers, product managers, and third-party stakeholders on technical risks and necessary remediation strategies.
  • Working closely with security and software engineering teams to assess compliance status, identify gaps, and proactively address new requirements.
  • Identifying compliance risks related to data privacy, usage, access controls, and security best practices.
  • Managing compliance project initiatives and facilitating product launches using Amazon's established delivery frameworks.
  • Ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards applicable to Amazon, as well as internal policies and security requirements.
  • Driving initiatives aimed at risk reduction through technical and process improvements.
  • Implementing GDPR Privacy processes across various services, including handling access requests.
  • Documenting and validating technical, functional, and process requirements for business and engineering teams.
  • Creating use cases to enable automation and technical solutions for security and risk management.

A Day in Your Life
You will collaborate with product and engineering teams from project inception to deployment, ensuring security and privacy throughout the development lifecycle while engaging with key stakeholders.

Team Overview
This position is part of the Amazon Prime Video READI (Resilience, Availability & Demand Insights) organization, focusing on aligning security and privacy objectives with business goals while managing associated risks.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications include:

  • A Bachelor's Degree.
  • Previous experience in Privacy.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and industry standards.
  • Experience leading projects with strict deadlines involving automated and manual systems.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications that would be beneficial:

  • Professional certifications in privacy (IAPP).
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • In-depth knowledge of domestic and global privacy regulations in a technology context.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining business unit scorecards.
  • Familiarity with audit processes, metrics, and dashboards.
