Your Role and Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Oversee compliance, governance, and risk management to safeguard customer interests.
  • Collaborate with internal Legal and Regulatory Compliance teams to drive the implementation of controls and compliance initiatives across business and engineering sectors.
  • Develop a comprehensive program addressing both technical and non-technical compliance, privacy, and governance aspects across Amazon.
  • Consult with software engineers, product managers, and third-party partners to assess technical risks, translating them into business implications and advising leadership on necessary actions.
  • Work closely with security and engineering teams to evaluate current compliance status, identify gaps, and proactively address new requirements.
  • Recognize compliance risks related to data privacy, usage, access controls, and security best practices.
  • Manage compliance project initiatives and facilitate multiple product launches using Amazon's established delivery frameworks.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards applicable to Amazon, alongside internal policies, including information security mandates.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at reducing risk through technical and procedural enhancements.
  • Implement and oversee GDPR Privacy processes across various services, including managing requests for data access and deletion.
  • Document and communicate technical, functional, and process requirements to engineering and business teams, validating implementations.
  • Identify and outline use cases necessary for automation and technical solutions to enhance security and risk management capabilities.

A Day in Your Life
You will collaborate with product and engineering teams from project inception to deployment, ensuring security and privacy are prioritized throughout the development lifecycle. Your role will involve streamlining and scaling security and privacy initiatives across Prime Video.

Team Overview
This position is part of the Amazon Prime Video READI (Resilience, Availability & Demand Insights) organization, where the mission is to align security and privacy objectives with business goals while effectively managing risk.

Basic Qualifications
To be considered, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience in Privacy-related roles.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and industry standards from previous privacy positions.
  • Experience leading projects with strict deadlines utilizing both automated and manual systems.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • Professional certifications in privacy (IAPP).
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • In-depth understanding of domestic and global privacy regulations and their application in technology.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining business unit scorecards.
  • Familiarity with audit processes, metrics, and dashboards is a plus.

The compensation package reflects the labor costs across various U.S. geographic markets, with a base salary range that varies based on location and job-related expertise.
