Human Resources Director

- Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the VP of Operations and management team to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that enhance employee experience and drive business growth.
- Align HR strategy with business objectives, working closely with the HR Director and Chief People Officer to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
- Serve as a consultant and business partner to management, providing expert guidance on HR issues, policies, and programs.
- Anticipate and assess HR business needs, communicating effectively with the HR department and other departments to ensure seamless execution.
Key Accountabilities
- Employee Onboarding and Offboarding
- Develop and implement effective onboarding programs to ensure new hires are properly integrated into the organization.
- Process new hire paperwork, updating HR systems as necessary.
- Talent Acquisition and Management
- Lead talent acquisition efforts, collaborating with hiring managers to identify and recruit top talent.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain top performers.
- Employee Relations and Engagement
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to managers, including coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
Requirements
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field, with 5+ years of HR experience or equivalent combination.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Professional certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Experience managing HR functions in a manufacturing and/or retail environment.
- Experience managing a union workforce.
Desired Skills
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with ability to build positive relationships.
- Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Experience with talent management, retention, rewards, and employee relations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software and human capital management systems.
