Job Description Summary
The Power Conversion branch of GE Vernova is seeking talented individuals to join its multicultural and multigenerational Power Electronics team. As a Lead Power Electronics Hardware Development Engineer, you will be part of a diverse team responsible for designing and developing high-performance power electronics converters for various industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and simulate power electronics converters for industrial applications, including marine propulsion, oil and gas, and power generation.
  • Specify electrical and mechanical component BOMs in collaboration with the Design Office and Manufacturing teams.
  • Develop manufacturing and commissioning instructions for power electronics converters.
  • Design new voltage source inverters (IGBT or SiC) and thyristor converters (rectifier LCI).
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • OR Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Power Electronics Converters Design.
Desired Characteristics
  • Strong theoretical and mathematical background, with the ability to understand new concepts and communicate information clearly.
  • Creative, passionate, and able to integrate into a team.
  • Willingness to travel when needed.
  • Autonomous, curious, and able to understand new concepts, coach other engineers, and integrate into a team.
  • Experience with MMC, multilevel VSI, LCI, DC drives, and cycloconverters.
  • Experience with variable speed applications, STATCOM, or active filtering.
