Lead Power Electronics Hardware Engineer

The Power Conversion branch of GE Vernova is looking for new and experienced talents which will become tomorrow the expert and reference in Power Electronics.
The Lead Power Electronics Hardware Development Engineer role belongs to a multicultural, multigeneration and diverse Power Electronics team. The Power Electronics team is a branch of the Global Engineering as the System team, the Automation team, and the Design office are.
If you are dreaming and passionate to design and/or control Low, Middle and High Voltage Power Electronics converters; which deliver high performance (better than 98% of efficiency) in an environment with condensation risks, with high vibrations (Marinized converters), Shock proved, Arc flash proved; for Industry, Oil and Gaz, Marine or Military application, with accuracy and precision better than the unit percent, and you are willing to push your limits and the technology limits, this is the right opportunity, the right team in a company with culture, ethics and ambitions as GE.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Simulate and Design (Electrical, Thermal, Mechanical) Power Electronics Converters for Industrial application such as Marine Propulsion, Oil and Gas, Metals rolling mills, and Power generation applications
- Specify electrical and mechanical component BOM while working closely with the Design Office and Manufacturing
- Write all product artifacts including Manufacturing and Commissioning instructions
- Design new Voltage Source Inverter (IGBT or Sic) and new Thyristor converter (Rectifier LCI)
- Master's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- OR Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Power Electronics Converters Design
- Understand physical phenomena; strong theoretical and mathematical background; with the ability to understand new concepts and ability to communicate information clearly
- Creative, passionate and integrate into a team
- Willingness to travel when needed
- Autonomous, curious with the ability to understand new concepts, coach other engineers, and integrate into a team
- Experience on MMC, multilevel VSI, LCI, DC drives and Cycloconverter
- Experience on Variable Speed application, STATCOM, or active filtering
