The Power Electronics Hardware Development Engineer role belongs to a multicultural, multigeneration and diverse Power Electronics team. The Power Electronics team is a branch of the Global Engineering as the System team, the Automation team, and the Design office are. If you are dreaming and passionate to design and/or control Low, Middle and High Voltage Power Electronics converters; which deliver high performance (better than 98% of efficiency) in an environment with condensation risks, with high vibrations (Marinized converters), Shock proved, Arc flash proved; for Industry, Oil and Gaz, Marine or Military application, with accuracy and precision better than the unit percent, and you are willing to push your limits and the technology limits, this is the right opportunity, the right team in a company with culture, ethics and ambitions as GE.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesWith the mentoring of experienced Senior/Lead Power Electronics Development Hardware Engineers, the Power Electronics Hardware Engineer will:
Simulate and design an overall Power Electronics system for Industrial application such as Marine Propulsion, Oil and Gas, Metals rolling mills, and Power generation applications.
Specify electrical components (Cables, Filters, Inductors, Capacitors, Transformers, Converters ...) of the overall electrical power plant.
Write all project artifacts including Hardware and commissioning instructions.
Design new Voltage Source Inverter (IGBT or Sic) and new Thyristor converter (Rectifier LCI)
Support the project team on Hardware tasks as needed
Support the Drive Test and Validation

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%

Strong theoretical and mathematical background; with ability to understand new concepts and ability to learn fast.
Creative, passionate, team player
Green Card holder or US citizen
Autonomous, curious with the ability to understand new concepts and to learn fast from experienced engineers, integrate into a team
Major Courses on Power Electronics Converters (MMC, multilevel VSI, LCI, DC drives or Cycloconverter), Variable Speed application, STATCOM, or active filtering
