Service Advisor Job Summary

Rihm Kenworth- Coon Rapids is seeking a skilled Service Advisor to join our team. As a Service Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective completion of customer repairs. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate the completion of customer repairs, from opening to closing, and to ensure that all work is accurately assigned to technicians and that customers are updated on the status of their repairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule service work to ensure efficient and productive work outcomes
  • Greets customers in a timely and friendly manner
  • Creates, writes, and completes repair orders, including documenting accurate descriptions of customer complaints, referencing vehicle history, and communicating estimates to customers
  • Determines payment methods and obtains required approvals from the Credit Manager, if necessary
  • Audits repair orders for completion and closes ROs within 2 days of the last touch by a technician
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 months of mechanical experience in the transportation industry
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Service writing/advising experience
  • CDL holder
  • Background and understanding of trucks and truck equipment
  • Experience working in a truck repair facility
  • Customer service experience
Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level is moderate to loud at times. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
