Job Summary

The Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Fish and Game Warden. As a Fish and Game Warden, you will play a critical role in protecting California's fish and wildlife resources, as well as enforcing laws and regulations related to their conservation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce laws and regulations related to fish and wildlife conservation, including those related to hunting, fishing, and habitat protection.
  • Conduct patrols and investigations to detect and prevent poaching and other illegal activities related to fish and wildlife.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to share information and best practices related to fish and wildlife conservation.
  • Provide education and outreach to the public on fish and wildlife conservation issues and promote compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Participate in search and rescue operations and provide assistance to the public in emergency situations.
Requirements
  • Must be a current Department of Fish and Wildlife employee or eligible for transfer.
  • Must have a valid California driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and undergo a physical fitness test.
