Job Summary

The Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fish and Wildlife Seasonal Aid to join our team. As a Seasonal Aid, you will play a critical role in supporting the daily operations of our fish hatchery program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily tasks and duties associated with the maintenance of the Mojave River Hatchery
  • Gain hands-on experience in hatchery maintenance and fish care
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork and collaboration
  • Develop skills in areas such as fish handling, water quality monitoring, and habitat maintenance
  • Contribute to the overall success of the hatchery program
Working Conditions

As a Seasonal Aid, you will be working in a dynamic and challenging environment. You will be required to:

  • Elevate 40 pounds and handle 50-pound feed and salt bags
  • Get in and out of 4-foot raceways
  • Work in and around water
  • Work in all weather conditions, including wind, rain, extreme heat, cold, and direct sunlight
  • Climb steep banks and work near waters with uneven terrain and unpredictable flow
  • Ability to climb ladders and open and close various types of valves

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds and handle heavy equipment
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
