Position Overview:

The Metal Fabrication Specialist is tasked with the intricate process of joining various metals and alloys in accordance with established codes and specifications. This role demands a keen attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a dynamic manufacturing setting with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interprets blueprints and process documentation to determine the most suitable welding techniques for the materials and tasks at hand, ensuring optimal penetration, fusion, strength, and alignment.
  • Conducts all tasks based on technical drawings, specifications, and welding guidelines.
  • Utilizes manual or semi-automatic welding machinery to achieve the required quality and specifications.
  • Monitors welding operations to prevent overheating and distortion of components.
  • Inspects finished workpieces for any defects, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Sets up, calibrates, and operates all relevant tools and machinery within the department.
  • Performs finishing tasks such as grinding and smoothing welds as necessary.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and identifies potential hazards in the work environment.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains an organized workspace, ensuring all equipment is in optimal condition and reporting any maintenance needs to the Supervisor.
  • Completes additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Welding Technology.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in a similar role.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in various welding techniques, including aluminum, MIG, and TIG.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics in both metric and imperial units.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Proactive in problem-solving and suggesting process enhancements.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to represent the organization positively.
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
  • Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Active participation in maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.

The anticipated compensation range for this position is between $23.17 to $35.33 per hour, based on a full-time schedule.

Compensation at SYNTEGON varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including role, location, qualifications, and relevant experience. Total rewards include salary, potential bonuses, and benefits.
