Company Overview:
Workforce is currently seeking applications for the role of Welder within the Welding and Fabrication department.

Compensation:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Position Overview:
The Welder will operate under moderate to minimal supervision, depending on their level of experience. This role involves laying out, fitting, and welding fabricated steel frames and metal components on the production floor using various welding equipment. The successful candidate will measure and mark locations for metal parts on the assembly table in accordance with engineering blueprints, ensuring accuracy in the assembly process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize torch and plasma cutter, as well as grinder, in standard and non-standard positions while adhering to engineering specifications.
  • Perform welding tasks in vertical, flat, horizontal, or overhead positions.
  • Employ basic hand tools, including tape measures and squares, to confirm the quality and precision of weld applications.
  • Inspect workpieces for defects and verify compliance with specifications.
  • Complete welding of components that have been tack welded by more experienced welders.
  • Prepare and finish metal components through grinding or sanding processes.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including overhead cranes and hoists.
  • Manage the movement and proper storage of materials or products.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including welding helmets, gloves, and safety glasses.
  • Engage in MIG welding and perform some TIG welding tasks.
  • Execute any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English.
  • Capable of performing standard measurements and using measuring devices.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and sketches.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and wearing required PPE.
  • Able to multitask effectively in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Understanding of voltage and amp settings for specific welding requirements.
Work Environment:
The following physical activities are essential and may be required throughout the workday:
  • Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate materials.
  • Reaching with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push weights up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Assistance may be required for lifting weights exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Standing and walking on concrete surfaces.
  • Climbing up to 4 feet.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as necessary.
  • Work in humid conditions and near moving mechanical parts.
  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
