Job Overview

The Development Database Coordinator plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of donor data and ensuring timely acknowledgments of gifts. This position is responsible for accurate and timely data entry, generating tax receipts, managing tribute gifts, and maintaining database quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Entry and Management: Accurately and efficiently enter donations and constituent information into the Raiser's Edge database, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Tax Receipts and Acknowledgments: Generate tax receipts for timely acknowledgment of contributions, maintaining a positive donor experience.
  • Tribute Gifts and Notifications: Manage notifications for tribute gifts, communicating with individuals who have made donations in honor or memory of someone.
  • Database Integrity and Quality: Regularly check for and merge duplicate records, remove excessive data fields, and ensure data consistency.
  • Training and Support: Provide onboarding CRM training for new staff and ongoing training for development staff, ensuring they are proficient in using the database.
  • Customer Service: Respond to inquiries related to donations, payments, event attendance, refunds, and other matters, providing excellent customer service to donors, volunteers, and staff.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Produce queries, reports, and lists needed by development staff for mailings, events, board give/get, revenue reporting, and portfolio management.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field, with a minimum of three years of nonprofit donor database experience or equivalent background.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and dependability; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in MS Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; and experience with relational databases, including administrative configuration, reporting, dashboards, and data quality skills.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to work with diverse and confidential information with discretion and good judgment.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Ability to work as part of a collaborative team, be self-directed, and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
