Position: Mechanical Engineer PE / PM - HVAC

Compensation: Starting at $125,000, commensurate with experience.

Role Summary:
A reputable engineering firm in Austin is seeking a Mechanical Engineer PE / PM with expertise in HVAC and/or plumbing design to join their expanding team.

Key Duties:

  • Perform calculations, design, and produce AutoCAD and/or Revit files and construction documentation to meet MEP engineering requirements across various building types (commercial offices, educational institutions, municipal structures, healthcare facilities, multifamily residences, etc.), with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
  • Oversee project management for both small and large-scale initiatives, including schedule creation, resource allocation, performance monitoring, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Organize and maintain all mechanical engineering documentation and schedules, along with any related general project files.
  • Review mechanical design submissions and conduct site visits as necessary to resolve any issues, conflicts, or inquiries that may arise.
  • Prepare and deliver project status updates to various internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Develop new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients through relationship building.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in HVAC or plumbing design and project management; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals, from subcontractors to project stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential. Familiarity with HVAC modeling software such as TRACE700, CHVAC7.0, and/or AIRMaster is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in HVAC/Plumbing design and project management for commercial, multifamily, educational, healthcare, and institutional buildings is highly desirable.
