Job Overview

The Senior Vice President of Asset Management will be responsible for the comprehensive oversight of asset management activities related to a diverse portfolio encompassing new development and construction projects, as well as the management of new lease-ups and established assets.

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Managing Director of Portfolio Management.

Team Leadership: This role will be supported by a team of Asset Management analysts, requiring the VP to mentor and guide analysts to enhance their productivity and performance. The position necessitates collaboration across various departments including Development, Construction, Accounting, Operations, Leasing & Marketing, Investor Relations, and Capital Markets.

Key Responsibilities: The responsibilities outlined below provide a framework for the role and may evolve as organizational needs change:
  • Oversee the construction, lease-up, compliance, and ongoing management of assigned properties.
  • Manage portfolio modeling, valuation, and summary analysis, presenting findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the operations team to supervise leasing and budgeting for the portfolio, while reporting significant strategic changes or variances.
  • Conduct investment analysis, including data input, market rate rent level formulation, and scenario modeling.
  • Guide hold/sell recommendations and assist in the refinancing or sale of properties.
  • Engage with and evaluate annual property appraisals within the portfolio.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports on assets, portfolios, and market conditions for investors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in collaboration with accounting and development teams.
  • Address special information requests from investors and capital clients promptly and professionally.
  • Perform periodic property inspections and document findings.
  • Assist in the preparation of operating budgets, tax returns, and annual audits for portfolio assets.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with all entities and agencies involved with the assets.
  • Lead frequent communications with partners through emails, calls, and in-person meetings.
  • Maximize the value of real estate through effective execution of business strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate investment management.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Robust analytical skills suitable for the position and tasks assigned by the Head of Portfolio Management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and leadership abilities are necessary.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience and advancement in commercial real estate finance and/or investment analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
