Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our Global Collateral Strategy and Operations team. This role will play a critical part in enhancing our Global Collateral Management function, driving process enhancements, and implementing robust collateral management and reporting controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collateral Strategy and Operations
    • Develop and implement effective collateral management strategies to mitigate risks and support our enterprise-wide collateral management strategy.
    • Direct and execute collateral projects, coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of collateral-related activities.
  • Collateral Management Systems and Tools
    • Develop and enhance collateral management systems and tools to support required growth in collateral use, identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collateral Management Controls and Processes
    • Develop, establish, and document robust collateral management controls and processes to mitigate collateral-related risks and support our enterprise-wide collateral management strategy.
  • Reporting and Analytics
    • Develop comprehensive reporting frameworks to provide actionable insights to our Global Collateral Management team, senior management, and stakeholders.
  • Collateral Knowledge and Expertise
    • Build a robust knowledge of our portfolio and data structures in the system.
    • Build a robust knowledge of existing collateral and investment-related systems and software.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with our Investments and Investments IT teams, as well as with business and corporate partners.
    • Assist in the analysis and evaluation of reinsurance treaties and investment agreements to determine collateral requirements.
    • Assist with and coordinate periodic reviews and assessments of collateral arrangements to identify risks and optimize efficiency.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in business, with emphasis in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
    • 10+ years of experience in life insurance or reinsurance, including 5+ years' experience in collateral management, risk management, or related field within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Advanced understanding of the US Life insurance and reinsurance markets.
    • Proven project management and change management experience.
    • Role model in a highly collaborative environment.
    • Advanced data analysis skills.
    • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective controls and reporting frameworks.
    • Highly advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received.
    • Highly advanced investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Advanced skills in change management.
    • Highly advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions, including technological solutions in coordination with IT colleagues.
    • Highly advanced ability to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously.
    • Highly advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines.
    • Highly advanced persuasion and negotiation skills when working with internal/external customers.
    • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate international projects across multiple time-zones.
    • Advanced technological skills with Microsoft products.
    • Advanced technological skills and experience with common industry applications.
