Job Summary

Enhance environmental management processes within designated power generation facilities within the Fossil and Hydro sector. Ensure adherence to relevant environmental regulations. This role will serve as the primary contact for environmental matters and, when necessary, for industrial hygiene concerns.

Position Overview

This position is classified within a range (grade 7 to 8); compensation, title, and grade will be determined based on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Remote Work: While this position is remote, the successful candidate will be expected to oversee multiple facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations pertinent to plant operations and maintenance. Recommendations will be made to management to guarantee adherence to company policies and environmental laws at both state and federal levels.
  • Facilitate daily interactions with relevant environmental services, safety, and engineering sections to maintain compliance with environmental standards.
  • Coordinate regulatory reporting to environmental agencies; ensure necessary notifications are made for any incidents; monitor the implementation of operational procedures for environmental control systems and address complex issues as they arise.
  • Support the Plant Industrial Hygiene Coordinator in executing environmental health policies and OSHA regulations, ensuring a cohesive approach to environmental and industrial hygiene compliance.
  • As assigned, implement strategies to reduce emissions of NOx, SO2, Hg, CO2, and other regulated pollutants to comply with current and upcoming regulations.
  • Coordinate and deliver essential training on environmental and industrial hygiene topics to employees, ensuring comprehensive understanding of training components.
  • Engage in community outreach and civic initiatives related to environmental awareness and education.
  • Assist in the economic evaluation of environmental compliance and industrial hygiene initiatives.
  • Ensure the safety of all environmental compliance and industrial hygiene activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.

Experience: A minimum of six years in environmental program execution or a combination of education and experience. An advanced degree may substitute for part of the experience requirement if relevant.

Other Requirements:

Physical demand level is classified as Sedentary.

Compensation Information:

Compensation Grade: SP20-007

Compensation Range: $83,267.50 USD
