The R Street Institute, a prominent free-market think tank, is seeking an innovative Governance Fellow to enhance our initiatives in electoral policy. This role is pivotal in shaping pragmatic solutions that align with our mission-driven approach.
As a Governance Fellow, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting in-depth research on electoral structures to foster better connections between elected officials and their constituents.
- Drafting insightful articles and opinion pieces advocating for secure and trustworthy voting practices.
- Engaging with legislators, election officials, and various stakeholders to promote public confidence in electoral processes.
- Presenting research findings at conferences and media platforms to advocate for electoral integrity.
This position is part of our Governance program, which aims to define the role of an effective government in promoting individual opportunities and minimizing unnecessary burdens. Our electoral reform efforts focus on:
- Advocating for primary reforms and alternative voting methodologies, such as ranked-choice voting, to enhance political incentives and provide voters with more choices.
- Expanding mail-in voting options while ensuring secure practices to maintain public trust.
- Restoring voting rights for individuals re-entering society.
- Defending free speech and participation in electoral politics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with experts on various research initiatives.
- Adapt strategies in response to evolving legislative landscapes.
