Senior Manager, Government Relations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Government Relations to join our team at the Edison Electric Institute (EEI). As a key member of our government relations team, you will be responsible for advancing EEI's policy priorities with Congress, the Administration, and other stakeholder groups on environmental issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Educate Congress, the Administration, and other key stakeholders about the electric power industry and promote EEI's priorities on relevant issues to obtain their support for EEI's positions.
- Develop and coordinate a comprehensive strategy to achieve the industry's goals on relevant issues, including direct advocacy, communications, coalitions, and third-party advocacy.
- Work with other EEI groups to develop educational materials on legislation and industry issues to be used by EEI staff, member companies, and allies.
- Assist in drafting legislation, amendments, and report language; draft letters to Congress and the Administration expressing EEI's position on relevant issues; work with EEI staff in drafting testimony to congressional committees on behalf of EEI; assist in briefing EEI hearing witnesses.
- Represent EEI at official functions, including fundraisers, conferences, and coalition events.
- Coordinate outreach strategy with various groups, including fellow electric trade associations, the Chamber, NAM, EWAC, Waters Advocacy Coalition (WAC), National Hydropower Association (NHA), and the Carbon Utilization Research Council (CURC).
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 years of Hill experience working for a congressional office or committee or equivalent experience as a lobbyist for an electric company or association
- Hands-on experience with the federal legislative and political processes and ability to manage and coordinate legislative activities
- Strong self-initiative and leadership skills
- Ability to read and understand legislative text
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
