Key Responsibilities:

The IT Subject Matter Expert will contribute to Barrow Wise's Federal Agency initiatives by undertaking the following tasks:

  • Provide leadership and guidance within the Cybersecurity Supply Chain Risk Management Community of Interest, including the development of key documents and best practices.
  • Engage collaboratively with various federal agencies.
  • Advise on tools and methodologies to align with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Suggest acquisition strategies to mitigate agency risks.
  • Create a risk management assessment tool.
  • Offer expertise in formulating new federal security policies and standards for contractors.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of information security policies and practices through periodic testing and corrective actions for non-compliant controls.
  • Conduct reviews of Security Authorization (SA) packages to ensure adherence to federal and agency standards.
  • Deliver security guidance to ensure uniform application of Security Authorization processes across contractor organizations.
  • Share best practices in cybersecurity and supply chain risk management.
  • Analyze critical IT infrastructure security challenges and threats.
  • Develop and implement internal and external vulnerability testing and scanning protocols.
  • Identify innovative opportunities to enhance existing cybersecurity processes and tools.
  • Create and document relevant scenarios and use cases.
  • Formulate processes and recommendations for contractors to address imminent security threats, including malware, ransomware, phishing, and other cyber incidents.
  • Assess and test security information and event management (SIEM) tools, facilitating automation and real-time incident response planning.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of compliance with regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, FISMA, SOX, PCI DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001, and COBIT.
  • Exhibit knowledge of security audits and compliance, translating insights into actionable strategies.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with appropriate security clearance (Secret, TS/SCI).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain Risk Management) along with certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CRISC, and/or CEH.
  • A minimum of eight years of expertise in cybersecurity and supply chain risk management within the federal sector.
  • At least eight years of experience collaborating with senior leaders and presenting to high-level officials, recognized as a leader in Cybersecurity Supply Chain Risk Management.
