Key Responsibilities:
The IT Subject Matter Expert will play a crucial role in supporting Barrow Wise's Federal Agency initiatives by performing the following tasks:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Cybersecurity Supply Chain Risk Management Community of Interest through documentation, facilitation, and best practices.
- Engage in collaboration with various federal agencies.
- Advise on tools and processes to align with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
- Suggest acquisition language to mitigate agency risks.
- Develop a risk management assessment tool.
- Offer new federal security guidance policies and processes, along with subject matter expertise to establish new cybersecurity standards for contractors.
- Review periodic testing results and evaluate the effectiveness of information security policies, procedures, and practices, including corrective actions for non-compliant security controls.
- Conduct Security Authorization (SA) package reviews as requested by the assigned agency to ensure adherence to federal and agency requirements.
- Provide security expertise and guidance to ensure consistent application of Security Authorization (SA) processes across contractor organizations.
- Deliver best practices in cybersecurity and supply chain risk management.
- Analyze pertinent IT infrastructure security issues and threats.
- Establish internal and external vulnerability testing and scanning processes.
- Identify opportunities for innovation by enhancing current cybersecurity processes, policies, procedures, and tools.
- Create and document scenarios and use cases.
- Develop processes and recommendations for contractors to address imminent threats to organizational security policies or standard practices, including incidents such as malware, ransomware, phishing, Advanced Persistent Threats, and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.
- Assess and test security information and event management (SIEM) tools and services, and create automation to translate real-time analysis from alerts into incident response plans.
- Conduct thorough reviews of the organization's compliance with regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, FISMA, SOX, PCI DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001 and 20000, and COBIT.
- Demonstrate knowledge of security audits and compliance, transforming insights into actionable plans.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- US Citizenship (Secret, TS/SCI Clearance).
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain Risk Management) and certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CRISC, and/or CEH.
- A minimum of eight years of experience in cybersecurity and supply chain risk management, specifically supporting the federal government.
- A minimum of eight years of experience collaborating with senior leaders and presenting to high-level officials, recognized as a leader in Cybersecurity Supply Chain Risk Management.
