Job Title: Outreach Specialist

The Outreach Specialist is a critical member of our team at Nation's Finest, responsible for conducting outreach and services to veterans in their assigned location. This role requires a strong understanding of available resources and the ability to assist veterans and their dependents in accessing programs and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct outreach and services to veterans in their assigned location
  • Assist veterans and their dependents in accessing programs and benefits
  • Develop relationships with local organizations serving at-risk populations
  • Host local informational events and participate in Stand Down events as needed
  • Respond to client requests for assistance and provide in-depth screening and assessments
  • Act as a client advocate to assist in receiving needed services
  • Apply creative outreach techniques to recruit potential clients
  • Work closely with staff and volunteers to develop and implement an outreach program
Requirements:
  • AA degree in social sciences or related field required
  • Four years' direct experience in at-risk client outreach or case management may be substituted for an AA degree
  • Two years' experience in case management within a social service or employment counseling position required
  • Three years' experience performing outreach and making referrals to various community services
  • Demonstrable ability to network and maintain excellent relationships with a large base of community contacts
  • Broad working knowledge of services within the local area
  • Demonstrable knowledge and advocacy of veteran and children's issues
