Position Overview

The Logistics Coordinator and Patient Transport Specialist is responsible for the safe loading, transportation, and unloading of patients for medical appointments and recreational activities, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and standards set forth by Life Care.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must possess a valid driver's license or commercial driver's license as required by state law, with a clean driving record in accordance with Life Care standards
  • CDL certification is mandatory
  • Previous experience in healthcare or geriatric services is preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of the vehicle
  • Oversee routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes and tire rotations
  • Make informed decisions when necessary
  • Stay informed about relevant practices, procedures, and regulations that govern operations in a post-acute care environment
  • Implement and interpret departmental programs, objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Exhibit proficiency in all areas of competency, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
  • Foster professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding all proprietary and sensitive information
  • Adhere to company policies, including those related to harassment and compliance
  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by following Life Care's Code of Conduct and completing all required compliance training

Essential Duties

  • Safely load, transport, and unload patients
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive demeanor towards patients
  • Assist in patient evacuation procedures when necessary
  • Exhibit reliable and consistent attendance
  • Utilize reasoning skills and sound judgment in various situations
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
  • Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving throughout the workday
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language proficiently
