Logistics Coordinator and Patient Transport Specialist

Position Overview
The Logistics Coordinator and Patient Transport Specialist is responsible for the safe loading, transportation, and unloading of patients attending medical appointments and participating in activity outings, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Possession of a valid driver's license or commercial driver's license in the applicable state, maintaining a satisfactory driving record as per Life Care standards
- CDL certification is mandatory
- Previous experience in healthcare or geriatric services is preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle
- Oversee routine vehicle maintenance (including oil changes and tire rotations)
- Make independent decisions when necessary
- Familiarity with practices, procedures, and regulations governing operations in post-acute care settings
- Implement and interpret departmental programs, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Exhibit proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Foster professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information
- Adhere to company policies, including those related to harassment and compliance
- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by following Life Care's Code of Conduct and completing all required compliance training
Essential Duties
- Safely load, transport, and unload patients
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive demeanor towards patients
- Assist in the evacuation of patients when necessary
- Maintain dependable and regular attendance
- Utilize reasoning skills and sound judgment
- Communicate effectively and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
- Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, and reaching throughout the workday
- Proficiently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
