Patient Care Associate

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Associate to join our team at Spaulding Hospital Cambridge. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support under the direction of a registered nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in implementing patient care plans as directed by a registered nurse.
- Provide physical care to patients, including bed baths, toileting, grooming, and changing bed linen, in accordance with established guidelines.
- Monitor patient vital signs and blood glucose levels, and perform other monitoring activities as required.
- Prepare patients for meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Document patient care in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to established standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized patient environment, including clutter-free rooms and proper disposal of specimens.
- Provide mentoring and teaching to new nursing assistants to ensure they meet performance expectations.
- Participate in additional departmental activities and objectives as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; nursing assistant certification preferred.
- Recent experience and/or training in clinical patient care is required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
- Basic math and computer skills are required.
- Healthcare Provider CPR certification is required.
- Knowledge of DPH/OEMS regulations is preferred.
- Enrollment in a nursing, pre-med, or physician assistant undergraduate program with a minimum of one semester of completed patient care rotations.
- Possession of a valid license, certification, or enrollment in a nursing assistant, medical assistant, mental health technician, or EMT-accredited program.
This is a full-time evening shift position at Spaulding Hospital Cambridge. The successful candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of service delivery and attention to detail.
