Patient Care Associate

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Associate to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide clinical support functions to promote a safe and compassionate patient care environment.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out patient care plans as directed by a registered nurse.
- Provide patient physical care, including bed baths, toileting, grooming, and changing bed linen, in accordance with established guidelines.
- Perform patient monitoring activities, such as vital signs and blood glucose, in accordance with established guidelines.
- Prepare patients for meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform patient rounds regularly and respond promptly to call lights to meet patient needs.
- Document patient care in a timely manner, adhering to established standards.
- Organize patient rooms to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Collect and label specimens in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide mentoring and teaching to new nursing assistants to meet performance expectations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; nursing assistant certification preferred.
- Recent experience and/or training in clinical patient care.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Basic skills in math and computer science.
- Healthcare Provider CPR certification required.
Work Environment:
- 25% of time spent in moderate activity.
- 50-75% of time spent in heavy activity.
- Over 75% of time spent in very heavy activity.
Exposure to:
- Extreme cold.

- Work in confined spaces.
- Risk of electrical shock.
- Risk of radiation exposure.
- Exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
