Position Overview:

The Global Business Selling organization oversees the strategic direction of our business selling proposition and the success of countless business sellers, both large and small, on the eBay platform.

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Strategy & Operations to enhance our global commercial programs.

The commercial programs team is responsible for analyzing the performance of our portfolio of business sellers across various regions and implementing initiatives that support their survival, scalability, and growth. This is a high-impact role that will drive strategic initiatives, business plans, and daily operations to effect meaningful business transformation, fostering a customer-centric organization focused on growth.

The role requires a dual mindset: a strategic leader with a profound understanding of two-sided marketplace dynamics, capable of breaking down complex problems into clear frameworks, navigating ambiguity, and possessing strong data intuition and executive-level communication skills, as well as an embedded operator who can act swiftly and decisively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define & Monitor Metrics: Collaborate with analysts to establish and refine key performance indicators that track business performance and identify leverage points within commercial programs. Responsible for monitoring metrics, diagnosing root causes of metric fluctuations, and communicating insights across all organizational levels.
  • Develop Strategic Frameworks: Create frameworks with key stakeholders to enhance existing commercial programs and devise additional solutions to elevate the customer experience.
  • Guide Strategy: Lead cross-functional teams to identify and align on essential commercial program objectives across processes, company strategy, and seller experience.
  • Collaborate: Foster strong partnerships with key stakeholders throughout the organization. Work with leaders to comprehend strategic priorities and lead end-to-end solution innovation, ensuring adherence to strategic and operational best practices.
  • Be Accountable: Establish business objectives and track progress toward achieving results; demonstrate a strong commitment to goals and managing complex projects.

Qualifications:

  • A strong customer-centric approach.
  • Experience in planning and execution, guiding projects from conception to full implementation within a large, complex organization. A background in consulting or strategy is preferred.
  • Results-driven with a proven track record in managing metrics that impact business performance and an analytical mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a talent for influencing and collaborating across teams.
  • Ability to articulate a vision and purpose for initiatives and programs in relation to long-term goals and objectives.
  • Experience in project and program management and delivery.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build trust and confidence at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in articulating challenges and collaborating with partners to develop effective solutions.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to convey a compelling narrative.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented problem solver who thrives on efficiency.
  • Passionate about attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with data, analytics, and modeling.
  • Willingness to engage in all functions, from administrative tasks to leading change initiatives.

  • Exposure to ecommerce or marketplaces is advantageous.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS/MBA degree, with 8+ years of relevant experience across two or more functional areas.
  • Expertise in data analysis, with the ability to identify trends and implications to inform sound decision-making.
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Focused execution, resourcefulness, and ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience representing the voice of the customer and synthesizing diverse viewpoints to drive alignment.
  • Experience communicating insights through data to senior-level executives.
  • Familiarity with complex CRM tools in a large organization.
  • Strong empathy for customers and partners.

The compensation range for this position may vary based on individual factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional elements, such as bonuses and stock options, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
