Position Overview

Hispanic Federation is in search of a Program Manager for Business Revitalization to oversee our small business grant-making initiatives, outreach efforts, and contract-related responsibilities within HF's Economic Empowerment program and advocacy initiatives aimed at enhancing the financial stability of Latino entrepreneurs.

The Program Manager will report directly to HF's Director for Economic Empowerment and collaborate closely with the director to enhance and expand the organization's small business support initiatives, including the Crear y Crecer su Negocio Small Business Support Initiative. This initiative, funded by a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration, will provide essential grant funding for small business support programming, develop a business fundamentals toolkit, and facilitate entrepreneur learning circles in designated congressional districts. The Crear y Crecer su Negocio initiative will serve as a pilot program, offering a comprehensive array of technical assistance programming and resources to strengthen the burgeoning Latino small business community in New York City and beyond.

The ideal candidate will possess experience working with diverse communities and have a background in program management and development. The manager should be a proactive individual capable of efficiently completing a variety of tasks necessary for effective and timely grant distribution and community engagement. The Program Manager will be responsible for reporting to the director and internal departments regarding the program's progress and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Program Administration
  • Collaborate with Hispanic Federation HQ and the Economic Empowerment Team to coordinate community-based small business support grants and promote available services.
  • Assist in the development of curricula and the creation of community toolkits that serve as templates and guidance for small businesses and the nonprofits that support them.
  • Administer small business support services as required.
  • Maintain precise records and provide timely program activity reports on grants and initiatives internally, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate and gather program data to confirm that the program meets its established development goals.
  • Coordinate and manage technology for all virtual workshops and forums, ensuring all locations are prepared for in-person events and meetings.
  • Support other Hispanic Federation projects and initiatives as needed.
Outreach and Engagement
  • Create informational resources and compile existing resources for promotion on HF's website and social media platforms, utilizing these resources during community interactions or when engaging with small business owners.
  • Build relationships with local chambers of commerce, nonprofits serving small business owners, and other community organizations focused on entrepreneurship; facilitate discussions and meetings among stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary contact for community outreach to entrepreneurs.
  • Collaborate with partners to promote program services to small businesses and local community organizations.
  • Foster key relationships and partnerships with community leaders within Hispanic Federation's network.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a BA/BS degree with a demonstrated interest in economic empowerment initiatives aimed at uplifting underserved low-income communities and entrepreneurs.
  • At least three years of professional experience in nonprofit program management, small business assistance, and community outreach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Strong ability to monitor work plans, track expenses, meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ideal candidates will be efficient, results-oriented, energetic, and possess exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Strong commitment to the mission and core values of Hispanic Federation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Willingness to support special events and projects, including occasional evening and weekend hours.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to travel locally within New York City.
Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000, commensurate with experience. The compensation package includes comprehensive benefits such as fully subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 403(B) retirement plan (with eligibility for a company match), and access to flexible spending and pre-tax commuter benefits. Full-time regular employees are also entitled to fifteen (15) vacation days, four (4) personal days, and paid sick leave.
