Preferred Qualifications:

TD Securities seeks a skilled accountant specializing in broker-dealer operations to join its legal entity control division. This role is integral to the U.S. Controller function for TD's Wholesale entities, which may encompass multiple SEC-registered broker-dealers.

The ideal candidate will oversee the accurate and timely reporting of IFRS and GAAP financial records and regulatory submissions for both broker-dealers and non-broker-dealers. Key responsibilities include:
  • Facilitating the coordination, preparation, and management of the month-end closing process.
  • Reviewing month-end balance sheets and income statements for respective product areas, ensuring accurate reconciliations in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Preparing financial reporting packages for senior management review as part of the monthly FOCUS process.
  • Collaborating with external and internal audit teams, as well as operations and financial operations groups, to ensure efficient audit completion.
  • Assisting in the implementation of strategic technology enhancements and reporting changes as directed by management and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate governance policies regarding End User Computing (EUC), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Account Reconciliation (ARCS).
  • Analyzing financial data with a focus on control, compliance, and addressing new reporting requirements alongside accounting policies.
  • Managing and reconciling transfer pricing and intercompany transactions.
  • Supporting integration planning and execution as TD Cowen integrates with TDS.
  • Overseeing intercompany activity controls across TDS entities.
  • Preparing for and participating in monthly close flux analysis meetings.
  • Leading a team of three in legal entity control and certain corporate and financial reporting functions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • 8+ years of post-undergraduate experience preferred.
  • FINRA Series 27 preferred but not mandatory; familiarity with the broker-dealer regulatory environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income/Equity products is advantageous.
  • CPA or CFA candidacy is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated individual with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with advanced analytical tools (Alteryx, UI Path, Power Query, etc.) is a plus.
  • Able to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work output.
