POSITION SUMMARY:

The Automotive Parts Sales Specialist is responsible for selling automotive components to a diverse range of customers, whether in-person, via the workshop, or over the phone.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist customers who visit the parts counter in identifying and selecting necessary components, recommend additional items, promote special offers, and ensure customers are aware of the complete product range.
  • Retrieve purchased items from inventory. If an item is unavailable, ascertain its availability and inform the customer of the anticipated arrival date.
  • Handle incoming calls, providing pricing information and other relevant details, while recording customer names and contact numbers.
  • Organize orders for daily dispatch, delivery, or collection.
  • Review the 'will-call' and 'back-order' files weekly, returning unnecessary items to vendors or restocking them.
  • Support the service counter parts sales associate as needed.
  • Order parts that are out of stock as authorized by the Parts Manager.
  • Notify customers and the Service Department upon the arrival of ordered parts.
  • Process cash and credit transactions accurately.
  • Contribute to the organization and cleanliness of the parts department.
  • Receive and organize incoming inventory, ensuring receipts match purchase orders.
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts as directed by management.
  • Maintain attractive and well-stocked merchandise displays.
  • Complete all required training as instructed by management.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions and information.
  • Proficient in interacting with the public.
  • Competence in using personal computers and applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
