Job Overview

Position Purpose:

NORTHSTAR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH NETWORK LLC is dedicated to providing exceptional care for individuals facing challenges related to substance use disorders, with a focus on Opioid and Stimulant Use Disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervise the provision of personalized counseling, group therapy, case management, and crisis intervention aligned with treatment objectives.

2. Ensure accurate documentation of services in client records, adhering to organizational policies and regulatory standards.

3. Lead the creation of tailored treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each client, in compliance with established guidelines.

4. Oversee the assessment processes, ensuring thorough documentation as per organizational and regulatory requirements.

5. Engage in weekly team meetings and supervision sessions to foster collaboration and professional development.

6. Conduct individual supervision meetings with clinicians and interns on a weekly basis.

7. Manage disciplinary actions related to employee performance and behavior, utilizing appropriate measures such as verbal warnings and performance improvement plans.

8. Coordinate care with external agencies, including legal and correctional entities, providing necessary information as required.

9. Supervise discharge processes in line with contractual obligations and licensing standards.

Essential Skills:

1. Demonstrate knowledge of core competencies in addressing co-occurring disorders through ongoing education and practical application.

2. Maintain awareness of site and client activities to ensure comprehensive care.

3. Prioritize tasks effectively, managing client monitoring, documentation, and other responsibilities.

4. Exhibit approachability and respect towards clients, offering assistance and support.

5. Handle multiple responsibilities efficiently and independently, demonstrating reliability.

6. Stay informed about program philosophy, policies, and relevant regulations, including client rights and confidentiality.

7. Understand and apply all relevant statutes pertaining to the services provided by the organization.

8. Facilitate intake and orientation processes for new clients and staff members.

9. Inspire clients to reach their goals by serving as a positive role model.

10. Act as a resource for clients by sharing knowledge of community services and opportunities.

11. Ensure accurate documentation of client information in communication logs and other required forms.

12. Clearly understand the mission of the program and how individual contributions support its objectives.

13. Address client conflicts, grievances, and clinician disciplinary matters effectively.

14. Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Problem-Solving Approach:

1. Utilize sound judgment and decision-making skills to address issues effectively.

2. Document client-related matters objectively in files and logs.

3. Maintain sensitivity towards the feelings and needs of clients and staff.

4. Take ownership of problem-solving initiatives.

5. Seek assistance when necessary to make informed decisions.

6. Collaborate with team members to enhance operational efficiency and support the mission of NORTHSTAR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH NETWORK.

7. Respond constructively to feedback and engage in continuous improvement.

8. Foster a positive work environment through respectful communication and collaboration.

9. Participate in staff meetings and complete clerical tasks as needed.

10. Maintain clear communication with colleagues regarding relevant developments.

Attendance Expectations:

1. Adhere to attendance policies and maintain punctuality.

2. Participate in rotational schedules as required.

3. Be open to working additional hours or shifts as necessary.
