IronRoad is conducting a confidential search for a Field Service Engineer specializing in the printing, packaging, or wide format sectors. This role is crucial for supporting our clients with high-quality service and maintenance of printing equipment.

Position Summary

The Field Service Engineer will work under the guidance of Senior Engineers during the training phase, focusing on the installation, upkeep, and repair of a variety of print manufacturing machinery. This position demands a high level of independent judgment, exceptional customer service skills, and a solid background in the printing and packaging industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support both existing and new clients by installing and maintaining print production machinery.
  2. Diagnose, repair, and document service activities for equipment at customer locations.
  3. Foster strong relationships with clients by analyzing service reports, identifying solutions, and recommending improvements.
  4. Conduct pre-installation meetings with clients to ensure proper utility modifications for equipment installation.
  5. Assist in coordinating logistics for the delivery of equipment and parts.
  6. Inspect, install, and demonstrate equipment for clients.
  7. Maintain accurate records of service activities, including service tickets, warranty documentation, and expense reports.
  8. Plan daily schedules, investigate complaints, and resolve customer issues effectively.
  9. Uphold confidentiality regarding service information within the company.
  10. Enhance job knowledge through participation in training and industry events.
  11. Contribute to organizational goals by completing related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Robotics, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Non-Degreed: 8+ years of hands-on experience in the printing, packaging, or wide format production environment.
  • Preferred Experience: Technical experience in a production or internship setting.
  • Must be a US Citizen or hold a valid US work permit; veterans are encouraged to apply.
  • Possess a current and valid US driver's license, insurable under corporate policy.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, including during travel.
  • Capable of standing for long durations.
  • Must walk considerable distances within facilities.
  • Regular lifting and carrying of objects.
  • Requires manual dexterity for grasping and reaching.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Vision requirements include color determination and clarity at distance.
  • Effective communication and listening skills are essential.

Work Environment:

This role may involve exposure to moderate to heavy noise levels.

Position Type:

This is a full-time position with standard working hours from Monday to Friday. Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary.

Travel Requirements:

Expect 30% - 50% overnight travel following initial training, including occasional trips to trade shows. All travel expenses will be covered by the company.

Compensation: Salary range is $65,000 to $72,000 annually, commensurate with skills and experience.
