Position Summary

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of a diverse range of print manufacturing equipment. Under the guidance of Senior Engineers during the training phase, this position demands a high level of independent judgment, exceptional customer service skills, and a strong mechanical aptitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support both existing and new clients by installing and maintaining print production machinery.
  2. Diagnose and repair equipment issues, ensuring thorough documentation of service performed.
  3. Build and maintain strong customer relationships by addressing trouble reports and suggesting improvements.
  4. Conduct pre-installation meetings with clients to confirm necessary utility modifications for optimal equipment performance.
  5. Assist in coordinating logistics for the delivery of equipment and parts.
  6. Inspect, install, and demonstrate equipment for clients.
  7. Maintain accurate records of service activities, including service tickets, warranty records, and expense reports.
  8. Plan daily schedules, investigate complaints, and resolve customer issues effectively.
  9. Ensure confidentiality of service information within the company.
  10. Enhance job knowledge through ongoing education and participation in training opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Robotics, or Electrical Engineering
  • Non-Degreed: 8+ years of hands-on experience in the printing, packaging, or wide format industry
  • Preferred Experience: Technical experience in an internship or production setting
  • Must be a US Citizen or hold a valid US work permit; veterans are encouraged to apply.
  • Possess a current and valid US driver's license, insurable under corporate policy.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, including during travel.
  • Capable of standing for long durations.
  • Must walk considerable distances within the facility.
  • Regular lifting and carrying of objects is required.
  • Must have the ability to grasp and reach for objects.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Requires good color vision and clarity of vision at various distances.

Work Environment:

The employee may be exposed to moderate to heavy noise levels while performing job duties.

Position Type: Full-time with a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday.

Travel Requirements:

This position may involve 30% - 50% overnight travel following the training period, including occasional trips to trade shows. All travel expenses will be covered by the company.
