Position OverviewRole Summary

ASRC Federal Agile Decision Sciences stands as a leading provider of systems engineering, software development, system integration, and project management services tailored for real-time, mission-critical defense operations.

We are in search of dedicated Information Security Systems Engineers to contribute to the development and maintenance of advanced defense systems.This role mandates on-site presence.

This position focuses on supporting the Ground Support Systems (GSS) team within the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) initiative. The selected candidate will engage in Systems Engineering activities with a primary focus on program protection and security (PP S) as well as Cyber risk management framework (RMF) analysis, planning, and execution. The individual will collaborate closely with the Program's PP S / Cyber team to ensure that GSS-specific requirements are meticulously planned and executed according to established guidelines and timelines. Responsibilities include participation in the GWS cyber working group, ensuring that GSS contributions are accurately documented, communicated, and completed in a timely manner. The candidate will liaise directly with software development teams to guarantee the effective implementation and verification of Application Security and Development (ASD) STIGs and General-Purpose Operating System (GPOS) STIGs. Key responsibilities encompass supporting accreditation processes, conducting vulnerability assessments, and performing RMF alignment analysis. Due to the nature of this role, it is not available as a telecommuting or hybrid position.

Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for employment
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; 1 year with a Master's degree; 0 years with a PhD
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with program personnel
  • Familiarity with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) standards, direct risk management framework (RMF) requirements, and knowledge of plan of action and milestone (POAM) development and implementation
  • Experience in an Agile work environment
  • Proficient in Linux, preferably Red Hat
  • Understanding of Static/Dynamic Code Analysis
  • Experience with System Auditing (Linux)
  • Knowledge of Automation and Containers
  • Familiarity with SIEM, IDS, and IPS
  • Security+ certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security with 2 years of direct experience in Risk Management Framework
  • Current CISSP or equivalent certification
  • Experience in reviewing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and/or using the DISA STIG Viewer/Explorer
  • Knowledge of system audits, vulnerability scanning, and RMF package development
  • Experience with User-based analytics
  • Exposure to Jira/Confluence
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Linux (RHEL)
  • Understanding of Kubernetes
  • Ability to read code in C++, Python, or Java
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (EMASS)
  • Familiarity with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
  • Familiarity with Coverity - Code Analysis tool
